Hello Friends! We are the Jeffrey Schwebel Foundation, a small organization solely focused on benefiting Camp One Step. This extraordinary camp is for children who are battling cancer. We began our foundation in 2001 in memory of our brother Jeff, a former One Step camper. One Step profoundly impacted his life and continues to enhance the lives of kids attending today.
Camp One Step was founded with a very simple idea; provide a normal childhood experience for kids dealing with a scary unknown, whose lives have been completely turned upside down by being diagnosed with cancer. The first year of the camp 40 children attended. Now the camp hosts hundreds of children annually. The remarkable thing about One Step is it is 100% run and operated by volunteers - and 100% supported by donations. NO CHILD is turned away!
Our main fundraising effort is The Player, a charity golf and dinner event. Jeff loved to play golf, although he wasn't a "serious" golfer he loved to have a good time on the course. Our event is created in this spirt, have fun and do some good along the way.
Since 2001 we have contributed over $600,000 and counting! Unlike many charitable organizations, we operate with zero over-head and zero administration costs, donating every penny we make to Camp One Step.
